2011 Lecturer: Mr. Noam Tamir
 

Mr. Noam Tamir Mr. Noam Tamir qualified at the Technion University, Israel in 1981 with the BSc in Engineering and Computer Science, before doing his Masters in Industrial Management (similar to MBA) in 1983. He currently lectures on various MSc courses in "Dentistry with Communication".

He was Managing Director of Isys which is a major provider of distance learning systems and IT services. His company developed business relationships with many of the top 100 UK corporate organisations to help them meet their educational needs by designing computer-based training for companies such as British Telecom, IBM, Abby National, Glaxo-Welcome, NatWest, Anderson Consulting, Pricewaterhouse-Coopers, BAE Systems and British Gas. He subsequently sold that business in 1999.

He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Healthcare Learning Co. (HLC) and Smile-on Ltd. which is based in London, UK. As CEO he has established HLC and its subsidiary, Smile-on Ltd as the leading provider of commercial, internet-based training services for the European Healthcare professionals' community with the help of a broadly experienced team. The growth of this project was funded initially via venture capital and later with Boots Plc. The development of the company's services has relied heavily on establishing firm commercial relationships with suppliers and the completion of extensive market studies to ensure that the composition and dynamics of the healthcare industry are suitable. His partnerships are mainly with Associations, Royal Colleges and Universities such as University College London, Cardiff, Kings, Birmingham, Manchester, Temple, Indiana, Paris 7, Dundee and others which have enabled his company to become the largest operator in Europe. His company has revolutionised the Education and learning for Healthcare professionals in the UK, Europe and now in other countries such India, China and Brazil.

Noam's first management skills were acquired as an officer in the Israeli army, where he achieved top honours and was the youngest officer in the 'Entebbe Raid' being a Captain in one of Israel's elite squads.

He is an active member on the Worshipful Company of IT; a contributing member of the Health & Medical Panel and a Freeman of the City; a member of the Board of Deputies UK and a Fellow of the RSA. He is also very active on various Charities; a trustee of the Sternberg Foundation and other trusts and a member of the London Rotary Club and the RSM.
