Dr. James Schneider, better known as Jim, has been a forensic odontologist for almost thirty years and has worked with the Coroner/Medical Examiner's office in Cleveland, Ohio for about 15 years.
He graduated from the University of Toledo in 1980 with three B.S. degrees and then proceeded to obtain his DDS from Case Western Reserve University Dental School in 1984. His BS degrees are in:
- Speech and Communication
- Physics and Astronomy
- Biology
He did his forensics training in the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) and was mentored for several years by a board certified forensic odontologist when he began working at the Cuyahoga County Coroner's office in Cleveland, Ohio (now titled the Medical Examiner's office).
He is a member of numerous forensic groups and has given presentations on this topic along with other dental disciplines. He is currently an instructor/preceptor at Case Western Reserve Dental School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He is also on the faculty at his local community college within the hygiene department. This is in addition to maintaining a general practice office.
