Dr. Adrian Richards graduated from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine in 1990 after also completing his first degree in Biology at the College of Arts and Sciences of that Ivy League institution. He received his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) from NYU/Bellevue Hospital Centre four years later. In 1994 he returned home to Barbados to fulfil the conditions of the Barbados Exhibition (Scholarship) that he had garnered in 1984 while at Harrison College. Dr Richards maintains a busy (OMS) practice at "The Oral Care Centre" and has been involved in organized dentistry throughout his career.
He is a past president of the Barbados Dental Association and has served on the executive of that organization for over 6 years. He is also a past chairman of the BDA Midwinter Dental Convention; a member of the Barbados Dental Council from 1997 until 2001 and its chairman for two years. Dr Richards has maintained memberships in both the ADA and the AAOMS. Dentoalveolar surgery and impacted teeth in particular remain an area of special interest to him.
