Dr. Frank Prieels started his dental career working as a general dentist at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium from 1980 to 1986 before going to the Maxillo-Facial and infectious diseases department of the Free University of Brussels where he acted as a research fellow and attained his certificate in oral pathology between 1987 to 1996.
His achievements are numerous and include a certificate in orthomolecular sciences from the Flemish Institute for Orthomolecular sciences in 1993; Certificate in forensic odontology from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden in 1998; certificate in multifunctional forensic investigation from the Catholic university of Leuven in 2003 and a part-time research fellow at the University of Freiburg, Germany in the department of human genetics and physical anthropology in 2003-2004.
He has maintained a private practice in Haaltert, Belgium since 1989 and from 1999 he has also worked within a private centre for forensic dentistry. He is currently preparing for his PhD on facial reconstruction using holography at the university of Dusseldorf institute for laser medicine and at CAESAR (Centre for Advanced European Studies and Research) in Bonn, Germany.
