Dr. Mike Krimholtz will present:
"The Diabetic Patient in Dental Practice"
Thursday, April 16, 2009 @ 8:30 am
Latest estimates suggest that the prevalence of diabetes in Barbados is over 10% and the World Health Organisation (WHO) has forcast a universal increase. With a population of 250,000.000, the overwhelming majority of the approximately 25,000 patients in barbados with recorded diabetes on the island have type 2 diabetes. It is highly unlikely that dentists practicing anywhere in the world today will be able to avoid encountering patients with diabetes because of its ever increasing epidemic proportion.
This session will discuss the nature of the condition and the various treatment options. Particular reference will be made as to how dental conditions and dental treatment will be affected by both the condition and its treatment. Dr Krimholtz will be happy to discuss any challenging cases.
