Dr. Ken Judy BA, DDS, PhD (hc), FACD, FICD is a colossus in the world of dentistry. He gained his B.A. degree in Classics and Pre-medical Sciences in 1964 from Georgetown University. He then proceeded to the New York University College of Dentistry where he attained his D.D.S. in 1968 and graduated from the New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (Biochemistry) in 1970. He has received many Research Fellowships as a student and also as a newly qualified practitioner.
His extensive lists of awards were achieved in America, Argentina, Italy, Germany, France, India, Turkey, Romania, Venezuela, and Great Britain.
Dr. Judy has been associated with many universities in capacities which ranged Facilitator of Dental Ethics Program; Assistant Research Scientist; Clinical Assistant; Assistant Professor; Visiting Associate Professor; Visiting Assistant Professor; Clinical Professor; Professor of Health Sciences; Chief of Oral Implantology and Implant Prosthodontics; and Professor. He has held these positions in universities within the USA, South America, France and Romania. He now devotes most of his time to the New York University Montefiore Medical Center; the College of Dentistry Albert Einstein College of Medicine; the Department of Oral Implantology Dental Implant Center in New York; the University of Pittsburgh Department of Prosthodontics; University of Alabama and Columbia School of Dental Medicine and Oral Surgery.
He has held many educational and association positions ranging from National Program Chairman; Director; Program Chairman within the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists; American Society of Osseointegration; American College of Oral Implantology; Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries and Practice Management; International Association of Dental Implant Technicians; Committee for Predoctoral Implant Dentistry Education; Committee for General Practice Residency and Advanced Education in General Dentistry Implant Dentistry Education.
Dr. Judy continues to be very active in research both in the USA and internationally and has attained membership status from dental associations in at least fourteen countries as far afield as Japan, India and Australia. He has been honoured with investitures of the Knight Grand Cross of Jerusalem, , Grand Officer Grand Cross of Cyprus and Knight of Justice, Grand Cross of Malta as well as the Military Order of the Most Holy Savoir and of St. Brigida of Sweden, Commandatore, Knight of Grace.
The position for which he is best known is as a Director within the International Congress of Oral Implantologists of which he has been a past president. He has been the Assistant Editor, Co-Editor, Consultant Editor, Editorial Advisor, Scientific Advisor/Editor, International Editor, Managing Editor and Editor of many dental publication in the USA and overseas.
