Dr. Jeffery Hill B.Sc., DMD is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry. He received his B.Sc. from the University of North Alabama in 1991, and his DMD from the UAB School of Dentistry in 1998. He serves as the Chief Dental Officer of the "1917 Dental Clinic", a division of the 1917 HIV/AIDS Outpatient and Research Clinic in conjunction with the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. He is currently researching the "Role of Oral Epithelial Cells in HIV Transmission" in collaboration with the Department of Microbiology at UAB. He is the author of "Oropharyngeal Disease" in AIDS Therapy, 2nd ed. (Dolin, Masur, Saag, eds. Churchill-Livingstone, 2003), a highly-regarded medical reference text for the diagnosis and treatment of persons living with HIV and AIDS. Dr. Hill has lectured nationally and internationally on oral healthcare for HIV-infected patients. He continues to serve on many Dental Review Boards and is a Certified Instructor in the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program.
