Jose Francisco Barros was awarded his B.Sc. in 1983 from the University of Florida before gaining his DDS from Emory University School of Dentistry, Atlanta in May 1987. He went into a private practice for general dentistry until 1997 at which time he pursued postgraduate studies at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) College Of Dental Medicine where he graduated with a Certificate in Endodontics in July 1999. He currently runs a private practice, specializing in endodontics, at "ENDODONTICS LIMITED" in Miami. He was appointed an Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Department of Endodontics at NSU in 2001 and relinquished the post of Professor of Endodontics and Assistant Professor in the department of General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach in 2002.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontics and the Florida Asociation of Endodontics. He received the Leadership Award from the Florida Dental Asociation in 2002 and continues to participate in many community activities throughout Florida organising "Dentist Day Gala" as Chairman in 2001 and as a member of the committee on other occasions. He is a Past President Riviera Study Club, current President of The Association of Alumni & Friends of the Nova Southeastern Post-Graduate Endodontic Program and a Member at Large West Dade Dental Society.
In non-dentally related areas, he is a Member of the Land Acquisition Selection Committee Environmental Endangered Lands Program for Miami-Dade County, President Tropical Audubon Society, a member of its Board of Directors in Miami as well as a Board member of Audubon of Florida based in Orlando.
Dr. Barros will lecture on "Endodontic Emergencies and Solving Endodontic Failures" as well as host a "Hands-On" course on "Practical Endodontics". Because of a limitation in numbers, delegates are requested to register early for his course for which there is a demand. You will gain "hands-On" experience using up-to-date equipment and techniques.
